AN OVERVIEW OF THE SITE
Thanks to the many individuals and organizations that selected "Perspectives" as a featured link, it has logged more than 10,000 visitors from dozens of countries. I have also received hundreds of letters from readers, and appreciate your loyalty and support.
The pieces on my site have been featured in magazines, newspapers, speeches, and on the radio for 25 years. Here, you will visit a national cemetery, view bigotry from the eyes of a child, and land on Mars with the Pathfinder. You'll discover why every family ought to have a toothbrush, and find out why God gave us dogs. (Yep! It's because we didn't have cable!)
"Vibrations of Love" documents a personal catharsis, in which I am challenged to confront all of the stages of grief within a few excruciatingly painful hours of my life. It is an international favorite, and has gotten responses from hundreds of people, including Amy Grant, Jerry Falwell and Erma Bombeck.
The Harper's Hill Bazaar is a stage play, based on the year we took our family to live on a cow farm. "A Slice of Life" is a collection of family humor from my syndicated column. And -- except for obvious satire and parody pieces -- every story and event is true -- including Mamma's summer romance with the flagpole sitter!
At the bottom of the site, you can meet my neighborhood of parody clients I created for a weekly radio show, taped before an audience at Duke University.  Drop by "The Iacocca Khomeini's Used Car and Recycling Center." Let "Camelback Limousine Service of Galilee" (With its rich Corinthian leather EX-terior!) take you for a ride. And tour the showroom at "Fillmore Dental Clinic and Pawn Shop" -- to see where they've hung that old plaque of mine! (But you might avoid "Shady Rest Crematorium and Zircon Factory" -- unless you want some really bad puns!)
My parody ads were also featured in an article in the Raleigh News and Observer.   During its two season run -- and with a lot of personal help from Garrison Keillor -- "Neighborhood Voices" rose from nothing, to the #1 locally produced radio show in North Carolina, during prime-time.
At your request, this material is now available for auditions, competitions, and production. You may either contact me, or write to East Los Angeles College (ELAC) School of Acting.
As always, I look forward to your thoughts.   LynnTerrell@aol.com

VIBRATIONS OF LOVE-- A message from my heart, to our daughter. It has been an international favorite since 1984, and was recorded by Dr. Richard Jackson. It has been read before groups in high schools, universities, churches, community events and speech tournaments. First-place Award from AOL and a major award from "A Candle in the Dark" Annual Contest.
THE PERMISSION SLIP -- A mother's "Coming of Age" story. Awards from Chicken Soup for the Soul Contest and America Online.
A MOMENT IN INFINITY -- Describes the anticipation I was privileged to share with Dr. Harold P. Klein, a retired NASA scientist, during the exciting final hours before the landing of The Pathfinder on Mars, at a site he helped to select. First-place Award from AOL.
SECOND SIGHT-- A daughter's "Coming of Age" story.
WELCOME TO THE WORLD-- A grandmother greets her first grandson.
LOVE IN ANY LANGUAGE-- A grandmother learns a lesson from a granddaughter.
LEST WE FORGET -- A tribute to my father.  Written for Memorial Day, 1997, for radio and newspaper. This is the Independence Day adaptation.  Award from AOL
EVERY FAMILY OUGHT TO HAVE A TOOTHBRUSH -- Lexicon of family expressions: "Snout-out" --  Suddenly tossing back the bedspread and catapulting the unsuspecting puppy into the closet!
A HARD WINTER'S PRAYER-- A very dramatic example of answered prayer!
IT WAS A VERY BRADY KITCHEN -- We finally got those new oak cabinets, and left a part of our hearts. Award from The Other Side of Creativity's Annual "Warm Fuzzy" Contest.
THE BEACH TOWEL-- What happened to the towel that belonged to no one?
THE PAGES OF MY LIFE -- Life from a ream of 16# bond. Platinum Award from AOL
ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING -- I lived a few blocks from Graceland when Elvis Presley moved there.  My mother was working at the hospital when he went for his Army physical.  My uncle bought Elvis' Audubon Drive home in the '60's, so I am now consulting with the owners to restore it to the Elvis-era condition.  (They just released a book about Patsy Cline, Love Always, Patsy.)
OF PRIDE AND PREJUDICE-- A view of bigotry from the eyes of a child.
THE BUCK STOPPED HERE-- Shares some creative adventures during a recession.
MAMMA AND THE FLAGPOLE SITTER -- Mamma's summer romance!
A GUIDE TO GUILT-FREE PARENTING -- Hints on raising children, from a mother with a disabling illness.  Myasthenia Gravis Homepage Links
NOSTRADAMUS AND THE REIGN OF TOXIC CLOUDS -- Example of pieces I wrote for magazines like Environmental Action, in Washington, DC. Gov. Mario Cuomo arranged personal interviews with State Commissioners. I worked with Hart Seeley, of The Syracuse Herald Journal, for a 5-part series, and interviewed world-renown dioxin expert, Dr. Arnold Schecter. I also worked with USA TODAY, and helped coordinate a "CBS Morning News" report with Hugh Downs.
PLEASE DON'T FORCE ME TO HAVE FUN! --Find that first spark of creativity.
THE HARPER'S HILL BAZAAR -- A Comedy in Three Acts-- This play is a fictionalized account of the year we took our children to live on a cow farm in New York.
SELECTED POETRY -- One favorite is "Banking Holly-Daze." An uncharacteristically dark epic, "Shadows of the Fall" has won numerous awards for multilayered metaphor and imagery of the Fall of Man.
